About the Project

The new JQUS will be a 175,000 square foot, 6 story, steel framed middle upper school with outdoor classroom space on the roof as well as a solar array. The Construction Manager at Risk’s scope of work is expected to include the following: enabling work at 152 Arlington Street to ready swing space for the existing JQUS 6th. & 7th. Grade classes currently housed at the 900 Washington Street campus; demolition of the existing JQUS two story pre cast concrete 900 Washington Street structure and of the existing Boston Chinese Evangelical Church building; and construction of the new JQUS facility to include a media center, a gym, a black box theater, a proscenium stage theater, locker rooms, roof terrace with outdoor classrooms, academic, physical-education, administrative and support spaces. The project also includes site improvements, including landscaping and re-configuration of the surrounding alleys, streets, sidewalks and crosswalks.
